The next match would see Melanie Cruise returning from her second tour of Japan, to take on "The MAC" Mario A. Crivello. Melanie would be victorious in the inter-gender match, defeating him via pinfall, much to the pleasure of the fans in attendance, and of course to the chagrin of the self proclaimed "lady's man"!
This past Sunday, SSW headed to Libertyville, IL, for Fuel Pro Wrestling. SSW owner RJ Daniels was invited to attend, along with fellow members of the SSW roster, Vic Capri, Ryan Kross, "Shogun" Chris Logan, SSW Tag Team Champions Shane Fury & Marcello Spade, Greeko "GQ" Suave, and Melanie Cruise (fresh off her second tour of Japan). It was a great night of wrestling that blew to roof off of Austin's Fuel Room!
In the first match to feature SSW, "Shogun" Chris Logan would defeat Joey "The Jet" Avalon in a singles match. It was during this match that his new alliance with Shane Fury and Marcello Spade would pay dividends, after Fury hit Avalon from behind, allowing Shogun to connect with his superkick for the pinfall victory.
In a later match, former SSW Tag Team Champion Ryan Kross would take on Hardcore Craig in a match that looked to be a battle of titans, but was prematurely brought to a halt by interference from Shane Fury and Marcello Spade. But, SSW owner RJ Daniels took action and forced the SSW tag champs to defend their newly won titles against Ryan Kross and Hardcore Craig, should the two be able to work as a team. They did, and the match was on. But, once again we would see the champs steal a victory after Marcello hit Kross with the title belt behind the referee's back, getting the pinfall to retain.
In the main event of the show, Greeko "GQ" Suave would overcome nearly insurmountable odds, when he would be crowned the first Fuel Pro Wrestling Champion, defeating "Ring of Honor" star Silas Young and "The Icepick" Vic Capri in their triple-threat contest. It was a hard fought battle by all three competitors, and congratulations go out to the new champ from all of us here in SSW.
All in all, a great night of wrestling action at Austin's Fuel Room, and it was nothing but an honor for SSW to be able to contribute and be part of the show, and we look forward to doing so again in the future! Until then, we will see you all at The Brat Stop in less than two weeks for "Eyes on the Prize" on Sunday, November 29th!
