THE STORY OF SSW
SSW Entertainment is an Independent Pro Wrestling promotion and production organization based out of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and serving the larger south eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois region!
SSW was founded in 2003 as "South Shore Wrestling", a small promotion based out of Cudahy, WI. It focused primarily on young and hungry talent looking to get into the industry. With it's initial run lasting for 3 years spanning nearly 42 events, SSW would make a huge impact on the wrestling scene of south eastern Wisconsin, with many of its early talents now headlining for many other promotions in the region! In 2006, SSW merged with the Kenosha faction of USA Championship Wrestling to form a new SSW known as "Stars & Stripes Wrestling". SSW became known for its spectacular annual charity event known as "Headlock on Hunger", as well as being a staple of the Kenosha community, holding numerous charitable events across the county. In the fall of 2011, SSW Wrestling was re-organized into SSW Entertainment, and re-formulated into a wrestling promotional and production organization, offering it's production services to other promotions to help grow the industry in the area. SSW worked briefly with Fusion Pro Wrestling in Milwaukee, and continues to work closely with Kenosha Pro Wrestling and Premier Pro Wrestling, though SSW would once again return to primarily booking its own events in late 2012, though still offering its services to other promotions in the area. In 2013, SSW "rebooted" itself, debuting a new vision for the promotion in that of booking top talent from throughout the region, with a new focus on becoming a major offering in the mid-west independent wrestling scene. Primarily booking events at the Brat Stop in Kenosha, WI, one the top venues in the region, SSW would debut its "Lords of the Ring" annual tournament in January. SSW would bring back Headlock on Hunger that March, and it would celebrate it's 10th Anniversary in May. With "A New Day" on the horizon this September, the future of SSW looks very bright! |
