THE OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT BRACKETS
The 2013 "Lords of the Ring" tournament continues the tradition started by SSW back in 2008. The tournament brings together some of the top talent in the region today - to compete for the honor of being crowned the "Lord of the Ring". In 2008, the tournament was won by "The Acumen" Austin Roberts, and when the tournament returned in 2012, it's winner was Ruff Crossing. Both men are in the upper echelon of independent wrestlers in the area today. The 2013 tournament is shaping up to be our best one yet, again with some of the best in the midwest vying for the title!
GRIN VS DAVE RYDELL
Unfortunately, both Deigo Corleone and Mr. 450 were unable toappear for their quarter final round matches in this years tournament, so, SSW management has made the decision that the already announced Lightning Division Championship rematch between Grin and Dave Rydell to take place at "War is Coming" this Sunday will also double as a quarter final round match in the tournament. The decision was made, that since Grin is now the Lighting Division Champion, and since Dave Rydell holds a previous victory over Mr. 450 from back at "Headlock on Hunger 8", both of these men are fitting replacements and deserving of spots in the tournament. The winner of this match will hold double honors at Lightning Division Champion and advancing to the semi-finals in December!
MARSHE ROCKETT VS MR. BANk$
The second quarter final matchup will see MR. BANK$ going head to head with MARSHE ROCKETT. Mr Bank$ qualified for the tournament back in September at "A New Day", when he defeated The Masked Stretcher in their qualifier match. Marshe Rockett was seeded into the tournament to replace Justice Jones, whom previously defeated Marshe at "A New Day" to become #1 contender to the SSW title. BUT, Marshe did defeat both Justice Jones and Pauly Thomaselli in their triple threat match at "Ring of Horror", which in the eyes of SSW management means he rightfully deserves the spot previously held by Justice Jones. Add to that since Marshe is also himself a former SSW Champion, there is no doubt he has earned this opportunity in the 2013 "Lords of the Ring" tournament!
MACHINE VS PAULY THOMASELLI
Machine qualified for the tournament at "Ring of Horror" in October, by defeating "The Samoan Savage" Wil'Moah. Pauly Thomaselli, on the other hand, was the very first man to qualify this year, defeating Ruff Crossing back in March in what could be considered an upset, since Ruff was fresh off of winning the 2012 tournament only a few months prior. Both Machine and Pauly are well know and long time veterans in the area, and their hold nothing back knock-down drag-out style of competition means this quarter final round match should be nothing short of a highlight of this year's tournament.
COUSIN JP VS CALVIN BECKHAM
Cousin JP defeated Peter Schwanz this past September to qualify for the tournament. Oddly enough, he would also serve as the special guest referee at "Ring of Horror" for the qualifier match between GPA and Calvin Beckham, as part of the "pick your poison" stipulation added tot he show. After Beckham won his match, he would give JP a big boot and lay him out in the ring, making it well known to everyone that "The Prettiest Man in Wrestling" was setting his sights firmly on becoming the 2013 "Lord of the Ring". But, Cousin JP is a long time veteran of the ring, and should not be overlooked by anyone as a strong contender to win this year's tournament as well as anyone else.
The 2013 "Lords of the Ring" tournament will commence with the quarter-finals on November 24th, at "War is Coming", with the semi-finals and finals to take place on December 29th, at "Game of Gold".
