The second annual "Ring of Horror" event on October 19th was another amazing day of SSW Pro Wrestling live at the "Legendary" Brat Stop in Kenosha, WI! A near sellout crowd once again showed up to support us, and we could not be more thankful for everyone who helped make the show a success! As has become the expectation of SSW, the show was a great mix of awesome wrestling, great moments, and unexpected turns of events, continuing our tradition that you never know what will happen in SSW on any given Sunday!
The grand prize in our raffle this Sunday at "Ring of Horror" has been revealed. One lucky winner will get the limited edition "Steelbook" edition of season 4 of "The Walking Dead". Given that Halloween is upon us, it was decided that our grand prize this time around would fit the season, and thus we decided to go with not only one of the best TV shows currently on the air, but also one of the best "horror" shows that can be watched today! It was just announced that "Shogun" Chris Logan will be taking on the winner of the "Last Chance" Battle Royal this Sunday at "Ring of Horror", which will determine who will advance to the Semi-Finals of the 2014 "Lords of the Ring" tournament. Whomever is declared the victor in this match will then be joining Jeff Luxon and Anthony Antonelli this December in the final rounds of the tournament, with the winner getting the guaranteed SSW Championship title shot!
With the 2014 "Lords of the Ring" tournament nearing it's conclusion, and one more spot open in the qualifying round, it has just been announced that there will be a "Last Chance" open invitational battle royal that will take place at "Ring of Horror" on October 19th. The match is open to anyone that thinks they have what it takes to be part of the "Lords" tournament, whether it be competitors that failed to qualify or those that just want an opportunity to get on the SSW roster, this match will give anyone a chance who thinks they have what it takes. With a guaranteed SSW title shot awarded to the winner of the tournament, this could very well be the greatest opportunity any wrestler could get to make an impact here in SSW!
It has just been announced that Jason Parks will be defending his newly won Interim Lightning Division Championship again Colin Smith at "Ring of Horror" on Sunday, October 19th! This will be the first title defense by Parks, who won the title at "Best in the Midwest" on August 31st, in what was later determined to be a tainted victory after pinning Colin Smith while using the ropes for leverage. Due to that, SSW owner RJ Daniels has named Smith the #1 contender to the interim title, and that he would challenge Parks in his first title defense!
To this point, it was presumed that after Ryan Kross and Jeff Luxon defeated Ruff Crossing and Scott Spade at "Best in the Midwest" last month, that they were the rightful #1 contenders to the SSW Tag Team Championships. But, we had yet to hear of an official announcement as to when they would be getting their shot at the titles currently held by Dave Rydell & Calvin Beckham. Well, we finally have our answer, and it is as expected that "The East-West Express" will be getting their title shot at "Ring of Horror" on October 19th!
The fourth competitor to compete in the "Monster's Brawl" match at RING OF HORROR on October 19th has just been announced, and is none-other than Ruff Crossing!
As many of you know, Ruff Crossing has been tag-teaming with Scott Spade as "Noize, Booze, & Tattooz" for years, until last month when they lost their match against Ryan Kross & Jeff Luxon (The "East-West Express") at "Best in the Midwest". Ruff apparently missed a tag from Spade, which ended up costing their team the match...as well as a rematch for the SSW Tag Team Championships. After the match, Spade shoved Ruff, refused to shake his hand, and walked off...leaving Ruff alone in the ring with a look of frustration and anger. It was announced a few days ago that the "Monster's Brawl" match will take place at "Ring of Horror" on October 19th, and that the winner of the match will go on to challenge Pauly Thomaselli for the SSW Championship in the Main Event of the show! It was also announced that both MACHINE and YABO THE CLOWN had already been confirmed as the first two competitors in the match. Earlier today we got word that a third had been signed to compete in the match, and now it has been revealed to be none other than GRIN.
This is a very interesting addition to the match, as this will be the first time in SSW that both GRIN and MACHINE will be opponents in a match, as the match is "every man for himself" with the coveted SSW title shot on the line. Is this some sort of strategy on behalf of Grin and Machine to increase the odds of one of them earning the title shot, or is this truly a parting of ways between these two? That question will be answered in just over two weeks! |
