It has just been announced that the 2015 "Lords of the Ring" tournament will begin this Sunday at "Headlock on Hunger 10", and the first match will be "Mr M80" Marshe Rockett taking on "The Future" Matt Dewar.
Marshe Rockett is of course a former SSW Champion, to which he earned by winning the "Lords of the Ring" tournament back in spring of 2012. He also has held multiple championships across many promotions throughout the midwest, and just recently appeared at a WWE tryout at a recent NXT event in Ohio. Undoubtedly, Marshe Rockett should be lined up as an odds-on-favorite in this year's tournament, but, not to be underestimated is his opponent - Matt Dewar.
Dewar has made the claim of being "The Future", and believes that "The Future" is now! "Back to the Future" references aside, although he may not hold the accolades of Marshe Rockett, he has definitely made an impact in his first couple years as a pro wrestler! Not to be forgotten is that Dewar won the Lightning Division Championship in his SSW debut match, only a few short months after starting his professional wrestling career, and he has continued to make an impact in SSW since. He set a very respectable time to beat of 7:45 last month in the "Beat The Clock" challenge, that was only surpassed by current #1 contender to the SSW title, "Shogun" Chris Logan!
With the second best time to beat in the challenge, Matt Dewar can now legitimately call himself a contender to the SSW title. But, it's one thing to be a contender, and another to be a former champion. So, this Sunday, Matt Dewar will put himself to the test against former SSW Champion, Marshe Rockett, and we will all find out whether or not "The Future" has truly begun!
