This past Sunday, SSW Pro Wrestling rocked The Brat Stop with our year-end spectacular event, "Lords of the Ring".  As in years past, it was a night filled with epic matches, awesome surprises, and shocking moments!  With the final rounds of the 2015 "Lords" tournament, as well as all the titles in SSW on the line, as well as one other, it was a night that we won't soon forget!
Picture
The opening contest of the night would be the first of the two "semi-final" matches of the 2015 "Lords of the Ring" tournament, where "Shogun" Chris Logan would take on Ruff Crossing.  Shogun would first appear with his fellow members of "The Refinement Club", the SSW tag champs, Shane Fury and Marcello Spade, as well as their newest member, "the man in the red hat".  The group explained their intentions to "refine" pro wrestling, and they were going to start with SSW.  Ruff Crossing would come to the ring, and the referee would eject the three other members from ringside before calling for the bell.
Picture
The match began, and the two men that last met in the "Monster's Brawl" back in October were now battling one-on-one to advance to the finals later in the night.  Unfortunately, Ruff would fall prey to the tactics of The Refinement Club, when it looked like he was about to finish off "Shogun", Fury and Spade came to ringside and grabbed his bull-rope.  Ruff grabbed it back, but, as the referee was distracted with the tag champs at ringside, Shogun super-kicked the cowbell into Ruff's face, allowing him to get the pinfall and advance to the finals later in the night.

The second match of the night would be the other semi-final match of the "Lords" tournament, between Greeko "GQ" Suave and "The Icepick" Vic Capri.  These two men are two of the most popular wrestlers currently on the SSW roster, and the crowd was clearly divided during this match.  It opened with a sign of mutual respect, as the two shook hands.  As the match unfolded, it was a very even contest as the two matched each other move for move for many minutes.  Eventually, Vic Capri got the upper hand on GQ, after blocking his attempt at the "Grecian Destroyer", and reversing him into a stalled brain-buster, allowing for the pinfall.  After the match, the two once again show their mutual respect with an embrace and both men raised their hands for a well fought match.

Next up would be an impromtu matchup, when Pauly Thomaselli would issue an open challenge for his LWF Championship.  This would not be the first time he defended the title in SSW, as he did back at Headlock on Hunger 10 back in March of 2015.  Pauly was defending the title, due to the fact that he was originally not scheduled for a match on the show.  But, with many ambitious young wrestlers looking for opportunity, Pauly welcomed a challenge from anyone...and Colin Cambridge wasted no time to take up the opportunity.  After a back and forth battle, that saw both men taken to their limits inside and outside the ring, Pauly was able to get the pinfall on Cambridge after a Razor's Edge style maneuver from the top rope, successfully retaining the LWF title.

The fourth match of the night would be the SSW Tag Team Championship match, where Shane Fury & Marcello Spade were defending against Jeff Luxon and his mystery partner, due to Ryan Kross being unable to compete due to injury.  Jeff came to ringside, and announced that his partner would be a man that is still looking for retribution on "The Refinement Club", and his name is Joey "Jet" Avalon!  Luxon and Avalon started the match off strong, putting the champs on the defensive.  But, as is common with most "new" tag teams, Luxon and Avalon had alot of miscommunication during the match, which allowed an opportunity for Fury and Spade to capitalize and retain the tag titles.  After the match, Luxon thanked Avalon for stepping up and helping him out, and further promised that he was going to make 2016 a "living hell" for Spade and Fury, and the rest of "the club".
Picture
The next contest would be a 4-way scramble match for the SSW Lightning Division championship, where "The Future" Matt Dewar defended his title against "The Man" Jack Carpenter, Jason "Mouth of the Midwest" Parks, and "High Priest" William Jacobs.  The match would be one-fall to a finish, with "lucha" style rules of two men in the ring at all times.  The match was a fast paced battle that would come to a close when JP would clothesline Carpenter out of the ring and both fell to ringside.  This left Jacobs and Dewar as the two legal men in the ring.  Devin grabbed Jacobs, and attempted to hold him so Dewar could hit him with the book, but he ducked away and Devin was almost hit instead.  As Dewar apologized for almost hitting Devin, Jacobs drop-kicked him in the back, causing the champ to hit heads and sending Devin to the floor.  Jacobs then rolled up Dewar and grabbed a handful of tights for good measure to get the pinfall, thus becoming the new SSW Lightning Division Champion.

The sub-main event for the night would be the final round match of the 2015 "Lords of the Ring" tournament, which came down to two of our toughest competitors - "The Icepick" Vic Capri and "Shogun" Chris Logan.  The two have come to be bitter rivals here in SSW as of late, after Logan turned his back on Vic a few months back and revealed "The Refinement Club".

The match began quickly as Shogun attacked Capri as he entered the ring. From that point the two went back and forth in a hard hitting contest, with both men nearly gaining a pinfall on each other on many occasions.  The match would almost be ruined after Shogun caught Vic with a straight kick that sent him tumbling out of the ring.  Fellow "club" member "Red Hat" came to ringside and convinced Shogun to try to win by countout.  With the referee's eyes on him, he was unable to pull anything, and Capri got back in the ring.  With the referee looking away, he hit Capri, which prompted Ruff Crossing and Jeff Luxon, both whom were victims of "the club" earlier in the show, to chase him out of the building.

Amid all of the commotion, Shogun Logan got distracted and Vic Capri was able to slam him down for a pinfall attempt, but only able to get to a count of two.  Marcello Spade then came to ringside to try to pump up Shogun, until Vic confronted him.  Shogun then tried to hit Vic in the back with his superkick, but instead hit Spade after he dodged it.  Vic then hit his "Ice Crusher" on Shogun, gained the pinfall, and thus won the match to become the 2015 "Lord of the Ring", as well as earning the guaranteed SSW title shot in the future!

It was then time for the main event of the night - the SSW Championship match between Marshe Rockett and Dave Rydell.  Prior to the match, SSW owner RJ Daniels came to the ring and explained to the crowd how proud he was of the match, telling them how both Marshe and Rydell have spent the better part of the past decade working their way up the ranks of SSW and becoming two of top members of the roster.  He commended Rockett for his gained success outside of SSW, and also commended Rydell for earning his shot at the title, instead of using Devin Diamond's ways to "politic" his way to the top.  He then stated that since both men worked their way up the ladder of success here in SSW, that it would only be fitting for them to do it one more time, as he was making their SSW Championship match at "LADDER MATCH".  The SSW title belt was then hung from one of the rafters, and the match was on!
Picture
Both Marshe Rockett and Dave Rydell made their respective entrances to the ring, with Rydell being flanked by his manager Devin Diamond, and his "partners" Matt Dewar and Pauly Thomaselli.  Before the match began, Rydell requested the trio leave ringside, because he "needed to do this himself".  Begrudgingly, they honored his wishes, and left ringside.  The bell rang, and the match was on.

Both Marshe and Rydell gave everything they had in the match, battling inside and outside the ring, and using every opportunity they had to try to climb the ladder and secure the SSW title.  The closing moments of the match saw Rydell attempt to grab the title belt, only to have Marshe pull him off and into a M80.  Rydell then rolled out of the ring, and Marshe positioned the ladder and climbed up.   As it looked like Marshe was about to grab the belt and win the match, Pauly Thomaselli jumped into the ring and knocked Marshe off the ladder, followed shortly by Matt Dewar.  But, Marshe was able to fend off the two, with M80s to both men.  During this assault, Rydell was able to regain his composure, and got back in the ring.  Apparently unaware of what had just happened, he caught Marshe with a "Kryptonite Krunch" style maneuver, putting the champ down on the mat.  Rydell then climbed up the ladder, grabbed the belt, and thus won the match to become the new SSW Champion!

Picture
After the match, Rydell was joined with his crew of Devin Diamond, Pauly Thomaselli, and Matt Dewar, as they celebrated his victory.  Rydell seemed taken aback at their arrival in the ring, and seemed somewhat confused as to what had happened.  Even so, Rydell reveled in his success at becoming the new SSW Champion, and celebrated as the show came to a close, putting another epic "Lords of the Ring" event into the history books!
